A few years ago we visited the Broken Bow Lake area in Oklahoma for the second time. The first time was a family vacation and we stayed at a cabin for about 5 days to unwind, play games, eat some good food, and fish. This time, we brought our Jeep and attempted to find some off-road trails to try out. Using OnX Offroad, we were able to find some fun areas to explore.

We started off on a trail that was extremely rocky. We found it on the OnX Offroad app, but be sure to cross-reference with an MVUM (Motor Vehicle Use Map). Here's the one for this area on Avenza Maps

This trail was open when we were there, but it does close during the colder seasons. Because it had recently rained, there were some muddy water holes to run through.

Always check the water if you aren't sure the depth or what's on the bottom! These all seemed to have mostly rocky bottoms and were shallow enough for our (then) stock Jeep.

We ended up at a Broken Bow Lake overlook and stopped to eat lunch. We ran into very few people. Be sure to check for updated trail closures before trying any of these out!
